PED Software - Accessing the System

PEDCALL

PEDCALL is a simple, efficient and intelligent message generation package. PEDCALL software enables messages to be sent to individuals, groups, or broadcasted simultaneously to all receiving units. PEDCALL also operates ControlPEDs and BlastPEDs Receivers.

PEDNET

PEDNET software allows messages to be sent from a remote location either above or below ground, for example from workshops or crib rooms. PEDNET utilises a computer and the telephone network to interface to the PED transmission system. Alternatively a direct connection between two computers can also be made.

Mine Monitoring

MINE MONITORING provides automatic message generation in response to an alarm condition. The alarm can be directly connected or linked to existing monitoring equipment. The system can monitor virtually an unlimited number of inputs. The messages that are generated can be pre-programmed by mine personnel. This could be used to immediately warn all personnel of unsafe gas levels or inform maintenance staff of breakdowns or failures.

BlastPED

BLASTPED software allows remote blasting via the BlastPED Receiver/Exploder. The software is an enhancement to PEDCALL, which ensures it is user friendly and requires only minimal training. The BlastPED software, like the receiver, is designed to ensure a high level of security is maintained for the blasting operations. For example, it is necessary to utilise a specially coded floppy disk to access the firing menu.
