Line Amplifiers: Infinity Series

The new Infinity Series Line Amplifiers are active devices, necessary as the RF power transmitted by the distribution headend fades or decreases due to the radiation pattern of the coaxial cable. As the RF travels down the coaxial Leaky Feeder the radiation leaks out like a lawn sprinkler. If we did not implement amplification eventually there would not be enough signal to be received at the mobile or headend direction.

The amplifiers we manufacture, being an active device, require a power source. The power for this system is delivered via the coaxial cable and sourced from the distribution interface.

Each amplifier is fitted with a switch mode power regulator to ensure that the bi-directional system remains balanced at all times. This also increases the amount of active devices on each leg.

Amplifiers are identified by the label on the top cover. This label also indicates the orientation of the device in the line. The arrow on the enclosure should always be orientated towards the headend. The label also has two indicator lights (LEDs) that indicate Power and Pilot Signal are present, providign an easy visual diagnostics tool. The amplifier enclosures are extremely robust & fully submersible.
