Lighweight ICCL Receives I.S. Approval for Coal Mine Use

The Integrated Communications Cap Lamp has received its Certificate of Conformity confirming its Intrinsic Safety for use in underground coal mines in Australia.

MST has had the ICCL operating in metal mines for just over a year, and now the approval will allow the supply of back orders with a number of coal mines, including Newlands North and Tahmoor. It will also allow finalization of approvals in China, where there is already 260 units on order from Datong Coal.

US approvals are already underway with MSHA, as there has been considerable interest in both PED and TRACKER in the US following various enquiries into the Sago Mine explosion. The ICCL is of particular interest as it combines the personnel aspects of emergency warning and tracking into a single, small package.

MST appreciates the support for their new light weight cap lamps, particularly those mines that were willing to order prior to this approval finalization.
