Coop Coal Mine Install VDV Leaky Feeder Radio
C W Mining (Coop Coal Mine) have just installed our VDV Leaky Feeder Radio System. This is our first installation of a VDV System in a coal mine in Utah. To date we have mainly installed our PED Systems in the majority of coal mines in Utah.
The leaky feeder system at Coop consists of just over 4,000 m (14,000 ft) of leaky coax antenna to cover the main travel road into the mine.
Coop also has a PED System, installed several years ago, and has chosen the VDV radio system to work with the PED Paging System. The two way voice communications provided by VDV complements the complete one-way signal coverage of PED.
Coop is already receiving additional operational advantages through communications with the two systems working so well together.
