Microwave Telecommunication Links

Mine Site Technologies extensive involvement with mining communication systems over the last 20 years has built up a lot of in-house expertise in a range of communication solutions. To complement our proprietary communication technologies MST also applies generic technologies to provide overall communication systems.

One aspect is the design and installation of microwave based systems for high speed data applications. In particular, the use of microwave and associated technologies allows us to offer a range of solutions for data links around a mine site, or more importantly linking remote mine sites to each other and back to the main office or administration areas.

As seen at projects such as Aurion Gold and Portman in Western Australia reliable high speed data links can link mines, separated by over a hundred kilometers or more, into a seamless company LAN and radio network.

Depending on site specific requirements and range of telecommunication options are used in conjunction with the basic microwave infrastructure. For example, demanding traffic requirements of the sites and physical layout may make the use of fiber optic cable, in conjunction with E3/T3 and E1 modems, etc are utilised to establish a reliable communications path. Completed systems provide seamless Private Wireless Area Networks for all LAN, radio link, etc requirements at, and between, mining sites.

The key is the initial planning and design of the system to meet anticipated requirements. A range of system options are available, however MST has the experience and design capabilities to provide the optimum solution (both in terms of performance and cost). Also, by designing, installing and commissioning complete systems MST has a high level of understanding that allows for efficient back up and support; as well as expansion, if required.

We would welcome the opportunity to be considered for any proposed telecommunications projects at your operations.
