Case Study - Digital Communications in Underground Copper Mine

The underground digital communication system in use at Dahongshan Copper Mine continues to give payback to the mine in operational improvements, leading the mining group to look at expanding to their other mines. As reported previously the ImPact Digital Communication System at Dahongshan is one of the largest digital systems we have installed to date.

The ImPact Digital system provides a range of applications off the one digital backbone, including:

  • Tracking, through the use of MST and AeroScout Wi-Fi RFID Tags.
  • Two-way voice communications using VoIP telephone hand sets.
  • Data link for 65 video cameras in use through out the mine.
