BACKGROUND

Barrick had an old leaky feeder system that was unable to be properly supported and performnace was not sufficient for the mine, so they decided to swap out the system with the VDV Infinity Series.

COMPOSITION

The Leaky Feeder System uses two 4-Channel Headends and 10,00 ft of LF coax antenna.

DESCRIPTION

The two Headends are used to provide 4-Channel voice ad data communications to the two remote ore bodies. The 10,000 ft of leaky coax antenna provides signal coverage on main access drives.

JUSTIFICATION

The VDV System was installed to upgrade the performance and reliability of the radio system at the mines.
